If it\u2019s AHV host, Nutanix can provide you the OS<\/p>

If it\u2019s VMs, only way to recover is backup as the VM is always in transience and data can\u2019t essentially be backed up in the local desktop.<\/p>

We wouldn\u2019t suggest using Nutanix snapshots for backing up the configuration\/data.\u00a0<\/p>

If you are looking for a template from where you can copy the VM settings and basic data, there\u2019s also a \u201cclone\u201d option in Nutanix. You can clone a \u201cgood state VM\u201d and use it as a base template for other VMs.\u00a0<\/p>","className":"post__content__best_answer"}">
