I am referring this article (https:\/\/portal.nutanix.com\/#\/page\/kbs\/details?targetId=kA00e000000kAKJCA2) which seems to be the exact case what I am trying to do here.\n \nEvery step is going smooth, but I am facing error only when the VM is migrated and when I start the VM it will always go into disk check and boot device not found error. \nSee image: \nThis is happening in both of the following case when I am creating a VM in AHV and mounting the disk image of the VM to be migrated:\n\n1) When the DISKs are mounted as SCSI\na. Now, when I am mounting the disks as SCSI which is the normal approach, the VM startup goes into the same error and VM will reboot and goes into disk check. After that it will go into the troubleshooting menu from where when accessing the console (cmd) I am going into DISKPART and I found out that the VM is not recognizing the disks. \nb. See image:\n\n\n2) When the DISKs are mounted as IDE\na. Now when I am mounting the disks as IDE, the VM starts up with the same error and VM will reboot and goes into disk check and then into troubleshooting menu. But this time when I access the cmd console and check the DISKPART it shows the disks mounted. So it recognizes disks when mounted as IDE but not when mounted as SCSI.\nb. See image:\n\n \nSUSPECTED ISSUE:\nI am thinking that when I am preparing the VM in XenCenter to migrate, I am uninstalling every Xen component (drivers, registry, etc.). I am also installing Nutanix VirtIO 1.1.3 drivers but I am suspecting that the drivers aren\u2019t getting installed properly. I have tried installing previous versions of Nutanix VirtIO drivers but after migration the VM is still giving the same boot disk error.\nI am also mounting the disks properly, the disk image is also created with the proper UUID, etc. I have tried trial and error with all possibilities but I am still getting the boot disk error when the VM starts up in AHV.\n \nPlease help me troubleshoot this.","url":"\/server-virtualization-27\/when-doing-vm-migration-from-xencenter-to-ahv-the-vm-gives-a-boot-disk-error-at-the-startup-in-ahv-after-migration-31057?postid=35912#post35912","creationDate":"2018-10-17T17:05:42+0000","relativeCreationDate":"3 years ago"},"numberOfViews":2756,"contentType":"question","publicLabel":"","category":{"url":"\/workloads-applications-6","categoryId":6,"title":"Workloads & Applications","metaRobots":"index, follow","type":0},"lastPostId":"35961"},

When I turn on the VM in AHV, I am getting a boot device not found error and windows will not boot up.Windows will start with a windows icon throws the error and restarts, then goes into disk repair, reboots and same error and goes into the troubleshooting menu and when I am restart the VM in AHV it again and always goes into the boot disk inaccessible error.I made sure all the Xen components are already uninstalled from the vm and Nutanix VirtIO drivers are also installed. 6.5u1, and I'm not looking to upgrade my ESXi 6.0u3 installs to 6.5u1. My first attempt was to use one-click hypervisor upgrade, and I was able to uploading the ISO and MD5 checksum, but the pre-upgrade check errors out pretty quickly with a fairly generic error message saying \"unable to determine version of bundle.\" Did a few re-download and re-upload attempts to verify my file integrity but the error persisted. I then tried to do the upgrade old-school style using VUM which is conveniently baked into my VCSA as of 6.5, and I got another generic error message inside of update manager, \"The upgrade contains the following set of conflicting VIBs:\" with nothing but blank space following the colon.
